Thassos lies opposite the coast of Eastern Macedonia, 18nm away from Kavala. It covers an area of 384 square kilometers and its coastline spreads for 118km all around the island. Starting from Thassos Town ( Limenas), a ring road of about 92km can take you easily everywhere on the island.

Skala Potamias is located on the east coast of the island. Together with Skala Panayias, they make the famous Golden Beach.
