Agia Galini is located in the centre of southern Crete and hotel «Fevro» is built on the mountain’s slope, just 3 minutes walk from the village’s harbour and 5 minutes from the beach.

On the way from the hotel to the harbour the visitor comes across restaurants and taverns with good food, traditional coffee shops, delicatessen, cafes and bars.

Beaches

Agios Georgios

(5’ by car)

A beautiful beach, right next to Agia Galini can be reached by car or by boat from the port of Agia Galini or even on foot in about 1 hour.

Agios Paulos

(35’ by car)

A visitor on arrival meets with a small picturesque beach with stone and rocks. On the West side of Agios Pavlos there is a popular beach with many sand dunes – the access to this beach is slightly difficult.

Triopetra

(30’ by car)

A beautiful beach with pebbles and a small natural bay on the eastern side. West of the beach are the rocks from which it got its name. The beach has sunbeds, umbrellas and a small tavern.

Akoumia

A large pebble beach just next to Triopetra. The water here is quite deep and when it’s not windy the visitor can enjoy it.

Plakias

A seaside village with a long beach which provides umbrellas and sunbeds and also a small harbour with restaurants and cafes.

Fragokastelo Beach

A magnificent beach next to the homonym Venetian castle. A visitor can enjoy the beach when it’s not windy. Around the castle there are some restaurants. The route here is relatively difficult, but very scenic.

Kokkinos Pyrgos

The small port of Kokkinos Pyrgos separates its two beaches. On the west side there is a rocky and pebble beach that stretches to Agia Galini and on the east side a beach that reaches Kommos.

Kalamaki Beach

A sandy beach in front of the little village of Kalamaki. Along the beach you will find restaurants and cafes.

Kommos Beach

The ancient port of Phaistos has one of the longest beaches in Crete. In front of the antiquities there is a part of the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a tavern a little further.

Matala Beach

The beach of Matala has been occupied since ancient times. The settlers back then carved a set of caves in the soft rock of the mountain. During a period these same caves were inhabited by hippies who made them famous worldwide. The beach provides umbrellas and sunbeds. In the village there are tourist shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.
